Augmented Reality the Future of Training

“The Robots are Coming!”, is the cry of fear from factory workers, taxi drivers, bank tellers, cashiers and delivery drivers. Yes, eventually, these jobs will all be outsourced to drones, robots, automated machines and autonomous vehicles.

The challenge ahead for these and other displaced workers will be the need to keep up with the already overwhelming skills gap needed for the jobs of the future.

The key to success for future vocational training is to expand teaching techniques beyond the typical 2D class room and use Virtual (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technology.

Augmented Reality shows the most promise since training combines virtual and actual environments for a true interactive simulation.

Since Augmented Reality uses a combination of virtual and real life environments, most preliminary and remedial training programs can be facilitated remotely from anywhere and at anytime. Training can be customized for each student to to help improve teaching methods and learning skills.

Augmented Reality has the potential to revolutionize vocational training in the future and help displaced workers develop useful job skills combined with career path development.

The future of vocational education looks very promising as Virtual and Augmented Reality technology evolve and eventually merge with traditional training.
